I am looking to buy a kayak, and have found a dealer locally that has a tandem, sit on top but I don’t have any opinions about the kayak. I plan on using it as a fishing kayak, solo, and as a way to hang out with friends (unexperienced kayakers) Any pros or cons about this kayak? Thanks! Eileen

I am interested in getting my canoe/kayak instructor certification. Anyone out there that is into this and have suggestions on where to do it would be great! I am looking to work as an instructor maybe through Eastern Mountain Sports or any other outdoor adventure places that may hire instructors..whether in the USA or abroad. Hi, I’m 16 years old and I’m wondering if it’s possible to either raft or canoe all the way down the Mississippi River. I am wondering because I am planning on doing this when I finish highschool. My main question about the trip is whether there are any dams or obstructions that would keep me from going down the river, and if there are, if they are passable. Also, I would like to know any other general information about this kind of trip, things like what the weather might be like at different points, places on the river that one can get bare necessities if needed, and anything else you can offer or I might need to know. I appreciate it, and the more information, the better! Thanks!

My husband asked me today about going kayaking. it sounds & look like a ton of fun…..but I’m afraid i’ll be to big for it. I’m about 5’6 and weigh a little under 230lbs. I”m in the process of losing weight & still really self conscious & I’ve seen people kayaking on t.v. and the boats look so small…..so how big is the opening to the kayak seat? thanks for any help…..
